About Alexis Moffett

A strong advocate for justice, Alexis Courtney “A.C.” Moffett has always been passionate about being the voice for individuals who often go unheard. This passion led her to choose the motto “A voice for the voiceless,” when drafting the Constitution for the Civil Rights Law Society at Thurgood Marshall School of Law, during her presidency. Now, as an attorney dedicated to workers’ compensation and personal injury law, that same commitment fuels her fight for injured workers across Illinois.

“As a former union member of the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA, “AFA-CWA”, I know firsthand how much workers must fight just to receive what they are owed. No one should have to struggle alone after being injured on the job. I am here to lighten that burden and take on the fight for them.”

A.C. graduated cum laude from the Texas Southern University – Thurgood Marshall School of Law. She was hand-selected by the Dean to be a member of the Thurgood Marshall Dean’s Leadership Council and was a member of the Faculty Tenure Review Committee, where she ensured the student body’s voice was heard in tenure and promotion decisions. She also served as President of the Civil Rights Law Society, Senator for the Student Bar Association, and co-founded Texas Southern University’s Black Law Students Association Pre-Law chapter to mentor and help undergraduate students navigate the path to law school. She earned her B.A. in Psychology, and dual minors in Sociology and Human Development & Family Sciences at the University of Missouri.

Before becoming an attorney, A.C. gained invaluable experience handling cases from intake to trial, conducting legal research, and drafting litigation materials. Her hands-on experience, combined with her relentless work ethic, allows her to aggressively pursue justice for her clients.

When not advocating for injured workers, A.C. enjoys traveling, going to the gun range, hiking, mentoring aspiring attorneys, and spending time with her nieces and nephews.
